Business Lockdown Energy Refunds

Here at Lockdown refunds, we specialise in claiming back any and all money that U.K. Based businesses have been overcharged during the Covid-19 lockdown period. The lockdown started in February 2020 and lasted until March 2021. Even though some businesses were allowed to open from time to time during this time period, most businesses at least suffered a loss of earnings.

The simple facts are if you were not allowed to open, or your company was affected by the government’s decision to ”lockdown” due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Why should you have been forced to pay business rates of gas & electricity and all of the related taxes and charges when you were clearly not running as a commercial business at the time? Please continue reading to see if these circumstances apply to you, or press the ”Get Started” button below so we can send you the relevant documentation.

Why Are Businesses Entitled To A Lockdown Energy Refund?

The reason businesses in the U.K. are entitled to a refund is due to the fact that commercial and domestic users of energy are charged different amounts of C.C.L. (Climate Change Levy) & V.A.T. on the bills. Commercial energy bills are charged at 20% V.A.T. and are also charged C.C.L. (Climate Change Levy) which adds around 25% to all business energy bills, whereas domestic bills are only charged 5% V.A.T. and no C.C.L. (Climate Change Levy). This means that in most cases the refund is around 20% of everything you have paid during the claim period.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions & lockdowns, most business premises in the U.K. are currently entitled to a refund from their energy suppliers. Energy suppliers have been charging business rates of V.A.T. & C.C.L. (climate change levy) on your bills, even though you were not actually running as a business at that time.

Any business forced to cease operating due to the restrictions can now claim back all C.C.L. (climate change levy) charged to your bills on the dates you could not operate. Also, any V.A.T. that you have paid will be backdated to 5% instead of the usual 20% business rate. This generally comes to around 15% – 25% of every penny you have paid your energy providers during this period.

Also, in many cases, we can claim back a large percentage of your V.A.T. & C.C.L. (climate change levy) going back as far as 4 years, for many other reasons, such as domestic use (if you or someone else lives on the premises). If you are a charity, or a percentage of your energy is used for charitable use, or if you run a non-profit organisation.

You will also be charged at this reduced rate on all your future bills. Roughly 20% less than before.

How Does It Work?

If you are interested in proceeding with a claim. All you have to do to start your claim is simply click the ‘’Get Started’’ button below and complete a short questionnaire.

We will then send you the relevant documentation that needs to be signed for us to work on your behalf. Once we have all the information we need, we will contact your suppliers to gain all the relevant information we need to start our review. Once we have the information we require, will then put together a claim complaint on your behalf and send it to your suppliers, and wait for a reply. Usually, at this point, they will send us the amount that has been recredited to your account, but if not, we will then chase up the complaint.

So far we have around a 95% success rate and a successful claim is normally completed within 4 weeks but please allow up to 8 weeks, as some suppliers are slower than others at completing complaints. If we are unsuccessful with your claim there will be absolutely no charge to the customer but if we are successful, the refund amount will be added you your energy bills and then repaid back to your business.

You can just sit back and wait for the results.

How Much Can Your Business Expect To Be Refunded By Your Suppliers?
